Watch This Bugatti Go At 417 km/h Equipped With Michelin Tyres

If you ever glanced through YouTube trying to find a video of a specific car and its top speed, you are likely to find most of these filmed on German highways. In fact, some stretches of freeway in Germany are without speed limits, which is what motivates drivers to go out and test the top speed of their cars.

In a recent video published online, we had a chance to see the limited supercar Bugatti Chiron dashing through the highway and reaching speeds up to 417 kilometers per hour. Let’s have a look at the video below and see the Bugatti in its full glory.

As you could see, the owner of a Bugatti Chiron went over what many thought was impossible before – driving his car at speeds over 400 km/h on a stretch of the highway between Berlin and Hanover. Despite the fact that many authorities, including the German Ministry of Transport, have criticized this high-speed stunt, what impressed many was the interior comfort of the drivers provided by the Bugatti, as filmed in the POV (Point-of-View) video.

Which Michelin Tyres Is The Bugatti Chiron Compatible With?

A lot of this has to do with the tyres, which provide the only contact of the vehicle with the road. Only specific tyres can handle speeds of over 400 km/h, which in this case is the Michelin Pilot Super Sport fitted on this limited edition sports supercar. With key features and compounds optimized for safety, fuel efficiency, braking, and longevity, the Michelin tyres are compatible with Bugatti cars as well as the driving style and conditions for them.

What’s also worth noting is the fact that the Bugatti Chiron can also be equipped with tyres like the Michelin Pilot Sport 4S, or the Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 (as pictured below). Both of these models are known to handle great speeds at ease, providing maximum comfort and a tight grip when cornering and braking.

Revisiting the video again, there is no doubt to say that everything looked amazing. From the stability and comfort in handling the Chiron to the smoothness of the German highway (as well as the discipline of other drivers on the road who are not keen on changing lanes too fast), everything felt right.

The German Ministry’s Statement On The Stunt

The official authorities were not happy with the top speed run – the German Transport Ministry said:

“All road users must abide by the rules of the road traffic regulations,” citing the first clause of Germany’s road traffic law, which states that “anyone participating in traffic must behave in such a way that no other person is harmed, endangered, or obstructed or inconvenienced more than is unavoidable under the circumstances.”

The Bugatti Chiron’s official top speed is 421 km/h.

It goes without saying that speeds like these can put the lives of the drivers, as well as others, at risk. The man behind the stunt, who is apparently a wealthy billionaire, said that there was a lot of preparation for the video, along with many spotters on the road.

For reference, the Bugatti Chiron is a model that has an 8.0 quad-turbocharged W16 engine with 1,184 horsepower and 1,600 Nm of torque, allowing it to reach an electronically-limited top speed of 421 kilometers per hour, with a 0-100 km/h run happening in only 2.4 seconds.
